Generation 2 - Part 3

Wow, things change fast around here!

First of all, our house is finished! The decorating, that is. The upstairs is finished. We have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. One bedroom is a nursery. We have a big hallway just waiting for our portraits to be hung as well. The downstairs "fun room" is done in yellows and oranges, fall tones you know. It looks really good. We also have siding on the outside of the house and we put windows in the rest of the house and the upstairs.

We have had quite a time! First, remember that we were expecting our 2nd child. We were kind of hoping for a girl, but we got another little boy! Now that we have him we can't imagine life without him. We named him Bobby. He looks just like Adam did as a baby. Both boys have my blue eyes.

Bobby is a very sweet kid. Soon he grew up to be a toddler. We weren't able to spend the time with him that we did with Adam, though. I hope that won't cause problems in the future.

We wanted Adam to get accepted to private school, so as soon as the house was ready we decided it was time. We made sure we had groceries in the fridge. Cheryl tried out a new recipe for salmon the day before and it turned out great! However, so many things went wrong!

First, we all started getting really tired around the time the headmaster was supposed to show up. Bobby also needed a diaper change and a bath at the same time! I was able to greet the headmaster and make small talk while Adam finished his bath. While Adam came down to greet the headmaster and give him a tour, Cheryl was bathing Bobby. As Adam began to come downstairs, he celebrated a birthday! We'd forgotten it was his teen birthday! Adam decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and pursue knowledge. He's not sure what he wants to do with his life at this time.

I went upstairs and took over for Cheryl with Bobby and set him playing in his room. Cheryl went downstairs to start cooking while I took care of Bobby and Adam gave the headmaster a tour.

Time seemed to almost fly by. Bobby was being very fussy and didn't want to play, so after Cheryl made dinner she brought him downstairs where we had a toilet stop up. Bobby started playing in the water so we had to move him to the living room where some toys were. Adam showed the headmaster the house but he wasn't impressed. I think he forgot to show him our living room where the books were. I understand though, Adam got flustered. By then, supper was ready, but I was so tired. Adam was too, so while Cheryl called the headmaster for dinner we slipped off to bed. I know, we shouldn't have done it, but we couldn't stand up any longer.

Cheryl taked to the headmaster as he ate his dinner. He really did like her salmon. Just before he was ready to leave, Cheryl decided to take a bath, so Adam got up after his short nap and continued talking to the headmaster. To top all of this off, we totally forgot that it was Bobby's birthday the same day! He grew up on us seemingly overnight while we were dealing with all this other stuff.

Unfortunately, the headmaster gave us a score of 83 out of 90 and said that Adam couldn't attend his school. The decision depressed me greatly and Cheryl called the psychologist to help me work through the disappointment.

For some reason, even though we had money in the bank, I decided to go outside and panhandle. I didn't make anything for some reason.

And to top off our week, Cheryl was demoted from her job as science teacher back to field researcher. We are happy she didn't lose her job, but she was very disappointed because this was a set back to her career.

So that was our week. Very busy and hectic. We're looking forward to new challenges now with Adam being a teenager and preparing for college and Bobby starting school this Monday. But we'll meet the challenges head on.

**note from simmer in charge - I'm trying to get as close as possible for photos of the babies and such but it's not working. Any tips are appreciated. I use the tab key but it doesn't let me get closer and after it takes off the control panel I don't know how to take the photo. I do know that I rolled knowledge for Adam but I forgot to check his lifetime want. I'll have to check that the next time I play. And it did seem that Bobby grew up very quickly, like within a day! I totally forgot to get him a cake and everything.

From the Simmer in Charge

I made some notes about Mark, Cheryl and Adam last night because I realized I never mentioned Cheryl's stats.

Cheryl Forbes - Knowledge Sim.
Lifetime Want - Mad Scientist
She graduated from college but I'm not sure of her major. The diplomas were deleted when I was redoing the house and knocked down the wall.

Her stats are sloppy/5, shy/3, active/7, serious/3, nice/7.

I've already indicated that Mark is a fortune sim and wants to become Chief of Staff. His stats are sloppy/2, outgoing/8, lazy/2, serious/6, nice/7.

Adam seems to be heading in his mother's knowledge footsteps. He is willing to study from the bookcase with no problems. I'm trying to get as many skills built as a child now before school starts and he has to keep homework done and then I have to roll for aspiration when he's a teenager. Who knows what he'll get then. But I thought his stats were interesting:

sloppy/2, outgoing/8, lazy/2, serious/6, nice/7.

He's almost the spitting image of his dad in personality, except for the desire to read and clean like his mom, but even though she has a 5 in sloppy/neatness, she's not a clean freak.

So far everything is perfect for this family beginning my legacy.

Generation 2 continues

Well, as I said before, Cheryl and I had a baby boy. We named him Adam. He grew up very quickly. He was such a good baby. We were lucky to have gotten a few promotions so we were able to have a nanny come in to help us out. Before we knew it, we had a toddler!

Here is Adam sitting in his high chair. He loved to sit in the chair and eat cereal while Cheryl and I ate our dinner. He has blue eyes just like me and Cheryl, and it looks like he may have her red hair.

Whenever I was able I spent time with Adam. I liked reading to him and teaching him things.

Before we knew it, Adam was a child getting ready to go to school.

Well, it seems Adam has my blonde hair instead of his mother's red hair. He's a handsome young man, though, no matter what his hair color is.

Cheryl came home from work the day after Adam's party and told me some exciting news! While at work she'd been feeling strange and a co-worker asked her when she was due. She'd had no idea why they would ask her that, but she had been feeling strange, so she took a pregnancy test she got from her lab. It was positive! She said that when she got home from work she looked down at her feet and couldn't see them! **

So we're expecting baby number 2. Cheryl is already on maternity leave, but this pregnancy is so easy for her she's spending a lot of time reading and learning new things. The only thing she hates is that she feels hungry all the time!

I'm looking forward to this 2nd baby. So is Adam. He's thrilled that he's going to have a little brother or sister.

Adam and I spend our evenings watching sports on TV. He wants to go to Academie Le Tour like me and his mother so he can watch the games there.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Life couldn't be any more perfect. We enjoy being together as a family. Since I only had foster families growing up, this is like a dream come true for me.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We got a few bonuses with our promotions over the last few weeks and we've been able to add the upstairs to the house.

Now that the upstairs is added, it's time to start painting and wallpapering. We still have to build a few more walls upstairs so Adam and his brother or sister can have their own rooms and a bathroom up there. We also want to enroll Adam into private school, so we have to make sure the house is up to snuff when the headmaster comes over. I don't know where we'll get the money, but we'll come up with it somehow.

**Note from simmer in charge - this 2nd pregnancy is really easy on Cheryl. With Adam she was sleeping a lot, but she never even had morning sickness with this one. She really did go to work and as soon as she got home her tummy popped out! She really looked surprised, too! **

Generation 2 Begins

I left college and made my way to Bailey's Ravine. The taxi drove through the town and up the hill overlooking the ravine. I had no idea my property was going to so far away from the town! Soon he pulled up and let me out. I paid the driver and took my first look at my new home.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It was completely empty! I started out by building the foundation for a house. At first I only had walls around the bathroom. After having some dinner and spending the night I called Cheryl the next day. She came right over, and even after seeing the house I'd started she agreed to move in with me! She had some money so we were able to upgrade the house.

We soon got jobs. I'm now an intern in the medical field. Cheryl is working in the science field. We decided to use some of our bonus money and remodel the house again. Unfortunately, during the renovations, our diplomas were lost!

Here is the first floor of the newly renovated house. We plan to add another bathroom and 2 bedrooms upstairs eventually.

We had a small wedding in our house, just us and the preacher. We then decided to start our family.

Soon Cheryl had our son. We named him Adam.

Senior Year!

Wow, it was a tough year! But I did it all. I've graduated! I had a 3.4 GPA and my diploma is ready to hang on the wall of my new house. I've bought a plot in the town of Bailey's Ravine. That's where Cheryl and I will begin our life together.

But first let me show you a few things from senior year. First, I did ask Cheryl to marry me.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And she said yes!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I'm now a very happy man!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

At the graduation party I told all our friends about the engagement. They all toasted to Cheryl. It really embarrassed her.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And here's a photo from the big day. We all had a lot of fun at the party. We danced and ate and drank from the punch tap. It was a blast!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I woke up with a terrible hangover. That fruit punch really has a kick to it! My dressy sweater and slacks ended up missing somehow after the party. I could only find this raggedy T-shirt to wear. I guess after I check out my plot of land I need to buy some new clothes. This image will not do for an up and coming doctor. Anyway, I'm a grown up now, a college graduate, but I don't really feel any different.

Life At College

Life is crazy at college, but I've met some great people. I met Sharon first. We became pretty good friends.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I also met Houston. We started eating lunch together everyday and doing our assignments together. He's also up for a game of chess almost every afternoon.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

But then I met Cheryl. There was just something about her. We started dating, hanging out, watching TV together. I'll be a senior next year and I'm planning to ask her to marry me.

As my senior year gets closer the assignments get harder. I also have to keep up with my extra credit assignments and write a term paper each semester. Sometimes I wonder how to fit fun into my life.

My name is Mark Forbes. I've come to college at Academie La Tour in Bailey's Ravine to make a new start. I'm an orphan, but I always had dreams to become a doctor. With only $500 to start my adventure, I left my foster family after high school and came here. I moved into a dorm and met lots of new people. I'm really excited to be starting my new life here in Bailey's Ravine.
