Adam - The College Years, Part 1

Hi, it's Cheryl Forbes. I can't believe my first born is at college! Boy, I feel old.

He's attending Academie Le Tour, my alma mater and the same place where I met his father. That seems like so long ago, and yet sometimes I get a glimpse of a memory and it seems like yesterday.

Adam looks so much like his father. He grew up into a very handsome young man, but you can see his father's nose when you look at his profile :)

Anyway, I decided to take up a new fad called scrapbooking. I'm already putting together some baby books for the boys and a few memory books from mine and Mark's college years. Boy, these scrapbooking supplies get expensive! You have to have acid free paper and special albums and they sell all these cute little stickers and things too! I could go crazy at the craft store.

Anyway, I thought I would share the first few pages in Adam's college scrapbook. He's been at college for 2 years now - he just started Junior year. He's got a 4.0 GPA and he's majoring in Physics. He's not sure what he wants to do for a living yet, but he has a lot of time to think about that.

Here are the first few pages I have matted and finished. These are from pictures that Adam emailed to me.

**Secret diary entry from Adam** - I emailed Mom a picture of Kaylynn, the maid I hired. I told her that all the guys have crushes on her, but that's not the whole story. Man, she is hot! But more than that, she's just a beautiful soul. I looked into her green eyes and I was hooked! I know she's older than me, but I plan to let her know how I feel soon. I hope she feels the same way. She laughs at my jokes and is always very nice to me.

High School Days

Hi, it's me, Adam Forbes. I just finished high school and I'm about to leave for college. It's pretty hard, though. Even though I like to read, I really hate doing my homework. I had a hard time my first few years and my grades weren't the best, but I've gotten better and hope to be able to get a pretty good scholarship for college.

Life has been pretty boring, I guess. Bobby and I go to school and come home, Mom and Dad go to work. Mom is now an inventor and she works long hours. Dad has his own practice and he's home by 4, which is kind of nice. Since we finally have some money Mom and Dad decided to hire a maid. Bobby did well in elementary school and middle school and I know he'll do well in high school. He doesn't let his homework sit the way I let mine.

Mom really wanted Bobby to get into private school, but she was totally unprepared for what happened. One day we were all at home goofing off when the headmaster from the private school called. Mom answered the phone and spoke to him for a minute. Then he invited himself over to check out Bobby! None of us were ready. Bobby had a friend over to play, so he excused himself to give the headmaster a tour but he wouldn't even give Bobby a chance to finish. He didn't even eat the salmon Mom tried to whip up quickly. He left really quick and Mom freaked out. She just knew that was the last chance to get one of us into private school and she blew it! I tried to tell her that we didn't even invite the guy over, he invited himself, so it wasn't our fault, but she still had a breakdown. She started acting all funny and was saying stuff like "Yes, doctor". Then she started cackling like a chicken. But she was better after that and she realized that it wasn't our fault the headmaster showed up.

The day I left for college we had 3 birthdays. Bobby became a teenager and Mom and Dad became elders. They still plan to keep their jobs, though. They really want to do their best in their careers.

Bobby had his party first, just after Dad got home.

Looks pretty good, huh? He looked a lot like me, so he decided to change his hairstyle. I think this one suits him.

Then it was Dad's turn.

That's me in the background wearing the same outfit as Dad! I guess I need to change, I don't want to dress like an elder!

Mom got home too late for a party, but we're going to make a cake for her soon and celebrate.

I wanted to say goodbye to Mom, so I didn't leave for college until after she got home. I said my goodbyes to my family and got into the taxi. I'll be going to Academie Le Tour, the same college Mom and Dad attended.

Bye for now!
