Generation 2 - Part 3

Wow, things change fast around here!

First of all, our house is finished! The decorating, that is. The upstairs is finished. We have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. One bedroom is a nursery. We have a big hallway just waiting for our portraits to be hung as well. The downstairs "fun room" is done in yellows and oranges, fall tones you know. It looks really good. We also have siding on the outside of the house and we put windows in the rest of the house and the upstairs.

We have had quite a time! First, remember that we were expecting our 2nd child. We were kind of hoping for a girl, but we got another little boy! Now that we have him we can't imagine life without him. We named him Bobby. He looks just like Adam did as a baby. Both boys have my blue eyes.

Bobby is a very sweet kid. Soon he grew up to be a toddler. We weren't able to spend the time with him that we did with Adam, though. I hope that won't cause problems in the future.

We wanted Adam to get accepted to private school, so as soon as the house was ready we decided it was time. We made sure we had groceries in the fridge. Cheryl tried out a new recipe for salmon the day before and it turned out great! However, so many things went wrong!

First, we all started getting really tired around the time the headmaster was supposed to show up. Bobby also needed a diaper change and a bath at the same time! I was able to greet the headmaster and make small talk while Adam finished his bath. While Adam came down to greet the headmaster and give him a tour, Cheryl was bathing Bobby. As Adam began to come downstairs, he celebrated a birthday! We'd forgotten it was his teen birthday! Adam decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and pursue knowledge. He's not sure what he wants to do with his life at this time.

I went upstairs and took over for Cheryl with Bobby and set him playing in his room. Cheryl went downstairs to start cooking while I took care of Bobby and Adam gave the headmaster a tour.

Time seemed to almost fly by. Bobby was being very fussy and didn't want to play, so after Cheryl made dinner she brought him downstairs where we had a toilet stop up. Bobby started playing in the water so we had to move him to the living room where some toys were. Adam showed the headmaster the house but he wasn't impressed. I think he forgot to show him our living room where the books were. I understand though, Adam got flustered. By then, supper was ready, but I was so tired. Adam was too, so while Cheryl called the headmaster for dinner we slipped off to bed. I know, we shouldn't have done it, but we couldn't stand up any longer.

Cheryl taked to the headmaster as he ate his dinner. He really did like her salmon. Just before he was ready to leave, Cheryl decided to take a bath, so Adam got up after his short nap and continued talking to the headmaster. To top all of this off, we totally forgot that it was Bobby's birthday the same day! He grew up on us seemingly overnight while we were dealing with all this other stuff.

Unfortunately, the headmaster gave us a score of 83 out of 90 and said that Adam couldn't attend his school. The decision depressed me greatly and Cheryl called the psychologist to help me work through the disappointment.

For some reason, even though we had money in the bank, I decided to go outside and panhandle. I didn't make anything for some reason.

And to top off our week, Cheryl was demoted from her job as science teacher back to field researcher. We are happy she didn't lose her job, but she was very disappointed because this was a set back to her career.

So that was our week. Very busy and hectic. We're looking forward to new challenges now with Adam being a teenager and preparing for college and Bobby starting school this Monday. But we'll meet the challenges head on.

**note from simmer in charge - I'm trying to get as close as possible for photos of the babies and such but it's not working. Any tips are appreciated. I use the tab key but it doesn't let me get closer and after it takes off the control panel I don't know how to take the photo. I do know that I rolled knowledge for Adam but I forgot to check his lifetime want. I'll have to check that the next time I play. And it did seem that Bobby grew up very quickly, like within a day! I totally forgot to get him a cake and everything.

Great story so far. I can't wait to read more. You can press c on your keyboard to take a picture. And if you hold down the right-click on your mouse and hold down the ctrl button at the same time, you can adjust the angle of the picture you want. just move it around until you like what you see.

this is a link to a good camera hack, it lets you get much closer to the sims in free cam. There are some disadvantages but overall it's a good hack to use if you want to get really close.
*on to the chapters I haven't read yet* :D
