Generation 4 Update
Hi, everyone. I'm Eileen Forbes. My mom tells me I'm the 4th generation Forbes to live in this house and that it's very important to be part of the Forbes family in Bailey's Ravine. She's shown me the pictures upstairs on the wall. I see Grandpa Mark who moved to Bailey's Ravine after college to start a new life. I see Grandpa Adam, who helped take care of me when I was a baby and helped me with my homework in grade school. Then there's the picture of mom that Grandma Kay painted. She looks really neat with her pool cue. She said that they wanted to get paintings of the family heirs doing what they loved. She said that she would paint my picture for the wall once I had completed college.
My mom is a really great lady. She worked hard as a police officer, but still found time to be with me. I loved it when she made pancakes for breakfast on weekends. I was always happy to see here. Here is one of my favorite pictures of her with me. I was only a toddler at the time.
On my birthday, mom was working, so Grandpa Adam gave me a party.
I was so happy to be a child and not a baby! I got some neat new clothes and some green pajamas for my birthday. Mom also took me to get a haircut. She said my hair was all in my face. I chose to get pigtails. I thought they looked cute back then.
I didn't really like school. I loved to learn, but school was stupid. I hated doing my homework. One night I had to stay up really late to get it all done. Grandpa Adam helped me and I was able to finish it before school the next day.
My favorite thing to do when I was little was clean. I don't know why I liked it so much. Mom said maybe I had Grandma Kay's genes. She told me how Grandma and Grandpa had met at the college. Grandma was the dorm maid and Grandpa was a student there. Once they married, Grandma wrote a book about cleaning and made a fortune.
Just before I turned 16, mom got a promotion and became Captain Hero! It was her dream come true.
I had a great birthday party for my teenage transition. Dad invited a friend of his, our mail carrier, Dagmar. I didn't realize it until looking at this picture, but she doesn't seem to like me much. I better keep and eye on her.
I stopped wearing pigtails as a teenager, as you can see. I let my hair grow long and just kept a ponytail. I like my look. It's a bit funky and fun.
I really love to learn and can't wait until I go to college. I should be getting a lot of scholarships. I got a cleaning scholarship, of course, as well as a communications scholarship and one for logic too. I really like to play chess with Grandpa Adam. Dad and I also like to stargaze with our telescopes. I can't wait until high school is over and I can finally study some interesting things. I've decided to be a doctor like Grandpa Mark.
Mom transitioned into an elder soon after my birthday and retired from the police force. I also got her some new clothes. I mean this orange and pink getup just wouldn't cut it!
We all really miss Grandma Kay. She was a wonderful lady and helped me out a lot. I'll never forget her. I just wish I could have known her longer.
