Cleaning Up My Act

Mom and I had another argument about a week ago about taking care of myself, especially now that I'm expecting again.

The next thing I knew my stomach started hurting really bad. Mom called the ambulance. I ended up in the hospital for almost 3 days. I had 3 days of no drinking, no boyfriends, no dates and no woohoo. I did a lot of thinking during those 3 days. Mom was right, I do need to clean myself up and stop drinking. What if I have caused some type of harm to my baby? I don't want to do that at all.

I'm seeing my doctor regularly for checkups and once the baby is born I'll be checking into an inpatient hospital program. Mom said she will take care of Frank and the new baby while I'm gone. I know I won't be able to take care of them properly while trying to get better.

Frank started school yesterday. I can't believe how fast he's growing up.

Life is looking up. Since I'm not drinking anymore I'm awake more often and spending more time with Mom and Frank. We usually try to eat most meals together.

He and Mom both drive me crazy rubbing my belly all the time.

Since it was almost my 25th birthday Mom said it was time to add my portrait to the wall in the upstairs gallery. She worked on it at night after Frank went to bed. Posing was very tiring. I hated her painting it now, while I'm so big. I really wanted it to be when I was slim and pretty, wearing a pretty formal gown. Mom really likes the painting, though. I sometimes watched her work on it, rubbing my own belly every now and again.

Here is the picture the portrait is based on...

My portrait now hangs in the upstairs gallery, along with Mom's and the other Forbes heirs.

What a lovely portrait! I kinda wish there was something else in the picture on the left-hand side ... like a bowl of fruit or something. ;O))

Well, the picture wasn't supposed to turn out that way. I have a hard time lining up the camera to do portraits and the photographs on the antique camera. I'm either off to the right or off to the left. When I lined up the picture, she was supposed to be in the middle, but when it took the game saved it this way. I loved the look on her face and her position, so I kept it.

Thank God she finally got a lick of sense. Now hopefully her children will have a mother who really cares about them!
